Daniel Neubacher works at the intersection of digital and physical space. He explores the manner in which contemporary media conditions the reception and presentation of images and especially artistic works.
In his work, un_content, newly produced within the context of his studio grant at the Künstlerhaus Bremen, Neubacher engages with stock imagery and their logic and feedback effects on our reality. He creates an exhibition scenario that is emptied of content and only represents the signifiers that make the situation recognizable as an exhibition. In this way, an exchangeability and generalization of contexts becomes visible, which negates all authorship and makes the image accessible to the greatest possible usability.
Daniel Neubacher (b. 1985 in Nuremberg) studied at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen with Prof. Jean-Francois Guiton and graduated as a master student in 2016. His works have been shown in group exhibitions in Berlin, Cologne, Schaffhausen, Helsinki, Bucharest, Detroit and Toronto as well as in web-based exhibitions.
