Sidsel Meineche Hansen
ONE-self
25.12.–28.06.15The installation in Künstlerhaus Bremen features EVA v3.0: No right way 2 cum (Oculus Rift) a new real-time animation to be viewed on the virtual reality headset Oculus Rift. The show focuses on the commodification of 3D model EVA v 3.0 in the 3D pornographic industry though the triangulation of three corporate identities. The logo NIK design represent the freelance animator and 3D designer Nikola Dechev, who created the model EVA v3.0.
Secondly, Full Moon Productions, a media company in the hunting industry and most likely the sister company of X moon productions is developing one of the first interactive adult 3D games called XStoryplayer, in which the 3D model EVA v3.0 is a central character. The context for the exhibition is the expansion of the pornographic into virtual reality and Facebook’s investment in Oculus Rift as a consumer devise. Borrowing from the genre of body-horror, the show tires to explore the social, economic and political dimension of gaming culture and the visceral space of Oculus Rift as a potential space for trans-feminist sex-activism.
The project is a continuation of an ongoing body of work by Sidsel Meineche Hansen that manifests as seminars and exhibitions. Over the past year the project has comprised of the artist’s solo presentation INSIDER at Cubitt Gallery, London; Methylene Blue diluted by Female Ejaculation, commissioned for Schizo-Culture: Cracks In The Street at SPACE Gallery, London; J’ai froid, castillo/corrales, Paris and HIS Head, commissioned for Late Barbarians, Gasworks Gallery, London.
