Project space at KH

Please review the rules for using the project space. By reserving the space, you agree to abide by these rules and are responsible for any issues that arise during your use of the space.

Use of the Project Space at the Künstler:innenhaus Bremen

Purpose and Responsibilities
• The project space is intended for artistic work, presentations, research, workshops, and meetings as part of the center’s activities or other agreed-upon uses.
• Users are responsible for maintaining order and safety, for the keys, and for any damage that occurs during their use of the space.
• One person must be designated in advance as the contact person for each reservation (name, contact information).

Booking and Times
• Bookings must be made in advance via the online calendar; the KH team will confirm the request by email—please wait for confirmation before making further plans.
• The booking period includes setup and takedown. Remember to allow for extra time.
• Please send cancellations at least 48 hours in advance.

Access and Locking System
• KH members will receive a code for the key box located in the stairwell by the project room door. External users must pick up the key in person at the association office and return it the next business day (unless otherwise agreed).
• Please close all doors and windows when leaving the room and also lock the entrance door to the stairwell from the outside.
• A lost key must be reported immediately; replacement costs may apply.

Room Condition and Smoking
• Please inspect the room at the start of your use; it’s best to document and report any issues immediately.
• At the end: Leave the room swept clean, surfaces wiped down, sinks/basins cleaned, and trash disposed of.
• Return furniture and equipment to their original places; take your own materials with you.
• Please do not make any permanent alterations (nailing, screwing, drilling) without prior approval.
• Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire building.

Use of Equipment and Technology
• Please use the available equipment (tables, chairs, pedestals, whiteboard, projector, lighting) with care and do not use it for purposes other than those intended.
• Handle shared tools and equipment with care; report defects immediately; do not attempt to repair them on your own.
• Use personal devices only if they are safe and VDE-compliant. Lay cables neatly to avoid tripping hazards.

Posting, Presentations, and Alterations to the Premises

• Painting, gluing, drilling, or making other alterations are permitted only with written approval.
• Ensure the space is restored to its original condition by the end of the booking period; repaint walls as specified, if necessary.

Fire Safety and Security
• Keep escape routes, doors, and fire extinguishers clear.
• Do not use open flames (candles, portable stoves) without permission; smoke machines may only be used by prior arrangement.
• Adhere to the maximum number of people (30).
• Turn off electrical devices after use; electric heaters are not permitted.

Noise Levels and Consideration
• Please keep doors closed, especially in the evenings, and be mindful of noise levels during rehearsals and audio work.
• Please take care not to disturb neighboring studios, exhibitions, or events.

Events and the Public
• Register public events (performances, workshops, readings, etc.) well in advance (at least 7 days) .
• Clarify GEMA, photo, and video rights on your own.
• Plan seating and emergency exits according to guidelines; provide staff to manage entry during high traffic.

Liability and Insurance
• Use of the space is at your own risk. No liability is assumed for personal belongings.
• Damage to the space, inventory, and equipment must be compensated.
• Proof of insurance may be required for high-risk productions.

Data Protection and Documentation
• For events with an audience, post notices regarding photo and video recording.
• Users agree that the venue may take photos for documentation purposes, unless otherwise agreed.

Violations
• In the event of violations, use may be terminated immediately and future bookings may be denied.
• Any costs (cleaning, repairs, keys) will be billed.

Final Provisions
• By making a reservation, users agree to these rules.
• KH Künstler:innenhaus Bremen reserves the right to make changes or additions; effective as of June 15, 2026.
