Ukrainische Gastkünstlerin 2025 Masha Pelishenko

On October 6th, Masha Pelishenko began her two-month residency at the guest studio of the Künstler:innenhaus Bremen.

During her residency in Bremen, she is especially looking forward to gaining new experiences and immersing herself in Bremen’s vibrant art scene. “Being part of the KH residency means a great deal to me. It’s not only an opportunity to work under supportive conditions, but also a chance to make new connections and grow through fresh experiences. I’m particularly interested in the local art scene — in what inspires the community here, what drives them to create, and how they live their artistic practice.”

Masha Pelishenko (born in 2004 in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine) has lived and worked in Uzhhorod since 2015. In 2022, she began studying painting at the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts, and in 2025, she completed a course in new media at Photinus. Her artistic practice spans various media and techniques, often serving as a means to explore her own identity and the social and cultural contexts that surround her.

Since 2022, the Künstler:innenhaus Bremen has been offering a two-month working stay for artists from Ukraine in cooperation with Artists at Risk. The residency has been supported by the Senator for Culture since 2023. The Artist in Residence Ukraine support program is aimed at visual artists affected by the Russia-Ukraine war.
