In the “IN CONVERSATION” series, artist Yoriko Seto talks with curator Clara Kramer about the works and concept behind the exhibition “Spuren” and shares her experiences during her studio scholarship. On the occasion of the artist talk, Seto’s new artist book will be published, featuring drawings from her year as a Bremen studio scholarship holder in 2025.

Yoriko Seto
’s (b. 1975, Fukuoka, Japan, lives and works in Bremen) work includes drawing, animation, and artist’s books. In 2024, she completed her master in Fine Arts under Heike Kati Barath at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. In 2025, she was nominated for the 48th Bremer Förderpreis. Seto most recently presented her work in the exhibitions Twogether – AusGezeichnete ZeichenSetzung aus und auf Papier (Twogether – Excellent Signage on and of Paper) at the State Representation of Bremen in Brussels and Onigiri at the CIAO exhibition container at Bremen Güterbahnhof. In 2024, her drawings were part of Anonyme Zeichner & Lines Fiction (Anonymous Draftsmen & Lines Fiction) at Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien.
