Szuper Gallery
21.06.–22.07.01“Szuper Gallery’s interest in the fetishistic works - economic and cultural - that permeate art led them to appropriate, twist and subtly undermine the formal elements through which these values are described: from the clothing to events to the vernissage and the exhibition itself. […] This is typical of Szuper Gallery’s videos, they are without clear narrative structure and dialog; there seems to be no goal, no end point for actions. Due to the absence of recognizable content, we are left to a succession of images that function mainly on a connotative level. Images that directly represent without interpreting. Our attention is drawn to superficial elements - design, behavior, fashion - that function as carriers of meaning, and to the gestures through which the power of capital is articulated today.” (Andrea Tarsia)
The project was part of the annual program Collaboration, artistic production modes that create an environment, which was divided into six event phases.
The exhibition was curated by Dorothee Richter in collaboration with Barnaby Drabble.
