Guest Residency 2012: Wantanee Siripattananuntakul
Wantanee Siripattananuntakul is a Thai artist who studied at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen from 2004 to 2006 and was subsequently a master student of Prof. Jean-François Guiton (2006/07). Since 2009, she has been working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphics, Silpakorn University in Bangkok. In 2015, she created a multimedia program titled “The Price of Inequality”; she also staged the “Wantanee Retrospective” and was one of the five artists representing Thailand at the 53rd Venice Biennale. Her last solo exhibition entitled “20” took place in Canada (Quebec) in 2016, while her most recent duo exhibition is “State of the ridiculous” in Thailand (Bangkok) in 2015, curated by Brian Curtin. This year she showed her work in Japan (Yokohama) under the title “Samut Thai: Unfinished History”, curated by Tang Fu Keun.
