Jeanne van Heeswijk and musicians from Bremen
26.11.–22.12.00
×
In her work, Jeanne van Heeswijk refers to the fairy tale The Town Musicians of Bremen, in which four animals join forces and use a terrible noise to drive robbers out of a house and occupy it. This strategy of appropriation was based on the animals’ desire to become town musicians, i.e. artists. Jeanne van Heeswijk’s re-reading of the fairy tale not only stages an appropriation of places, but also demands and celebrates the purposelessness of art production.
The exhibition is part of the project urbane nachbarschaften - urban neighborhoods.
