In the third round of the Visiting Curators funding program, five internationally active curators from Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe, Berlin, Munich and Maastricht came to Bremen in November 2019 and visited a total of 33 Bremen artists in their studios and in the guest studio at Künstler:innenhaus Bremen.

Invited were Dr Monika Bayer-Wermuth, curator at the Museum Brandhorst in Munich, Dr Sven Beckstette, curator at the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, Anja Casser, director of the Badischer Kunstverein, Luisa Heese, curator at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden and Natasha Marie Llorens (standing in for Huib Haye van der Werf), independent curator and curator in residence at the Jan Van Eyck Academy in Maastricht and tutor at the Piet Zwart Institute Rotterdam.

• Cooperation

  Visiting Curators is a joint project of the Bremen Artists’ Association BBK, the Bremen Women Artists’ Association, GEDOK, the Künstler:innenhaus Bremen and the Städtische Galerie Bremen. All professional artists with a centre of work in Bremen who have completed their studies at an art academy or who can prove that they work professionally as an artist are invited to apply.
