Visiting Curators 2018

As part of the Visiting Curators funding programme, five internationally active curators from Berlin, Dublin, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe and Cologne visited a total of 35 Bremen artists in their studios in autumn 2018.

Invited were Philipp Ziegler, senior curator at the ZKM | Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe; Heide Häusler, freelance curator and director of Internationale Photoszene Köln; Akiko Bernhöft, freelance curator and research assistant at the Berlin University of the Arts; Christina Kennedy, head of the collections department at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin, and Ursula Schöndeling, director of Heidelberger Kunstverein. They were nominated by the Bremen curators Ingo Clauß (Weserburg | Museum für moderne Kunst), Janneke de Vries (GAK Gesellschaft für aktuelle Kunst), Eva Fischer-Hausdorf (Kunsthalle Bremen), Ingmar Lähnemann (Städtische Galerie Bremen) and Nadja Quante (Künstler:innenhaus Bremen).

  • Cooperation

    Visiting Curators is a joint project of the Bremen Artists’ Association BBK, the Bremen Women Artists’ Association, GEDOK, the Künstler:innenhaus Bremen and the Städtische Galerie Bremen. All professional artists with a centre of work in Bremen who have completed their studies at an art academy or who can prove that they work professionally as an artist are invited to apply.
